Though Sri Lanka is a small country, many animals are living in this country . The reason for it is the good environment for them.
From in reason the times Sri Lanka is developing rapidly and as a result of this the people hope to spend a luxurious life. Since ancient time the people cut down trees to built hoses and for cultivate. Deforestation and loss of habitat has an increased effect on the wild elephants.
In addition to this some people needed to take the tusks of elephant, so they kill elephants. In some occasions elephants are a threat to farmers, their crops and their lives therefore they kill elephants.
According to my point of view, we ought to protect the wild elephants. Having elephants makes the environment beautiful. The elephants should have reserved areas and people should be prohibit from entering those reservations. As well as the government should take action against the hunters, raise public awareness through the media. I think we need to increase the number of elephant orphanages. Moreover if we follow a good plan it will turn out good for the wild elephants.
